"Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. And you cannot turn away. Your destiny is bound with the destinies of others. You must either learn to carry the Universe or be crushed by it. You must grow strong enough to love the world, yet empty enough to sit down at the same table with its worst horrors."

WHAT TO WEAR: Rainy Days

By design, rainy days are made for two reasons:

1) Bundling up in a cocoon of blankets, and watching movies.

2) Jumping through extra large puddles in your sneakers

Heat waves suck, but your outfit doesn’t have to! WHAT TO WEAR: Heat Wave

Cross My Heart, Hope to Die, Stick A Needle in My Eye

Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye. Contrary to popular belief, we’re never too old to act like a kid. Sure, in certain situations life deems it necessary to behave like  an adult.

Unfortunately, we can no longer watch cartoons every Saturday morning, and hide from our responsibilities in a blanket fort. We can try, but life is bound to find us. That doesn’t mean that we need to behave like so all the time. In fact, childish tendencies are in all of us. We want to be baby-ed and we want to have fun. We want someone to take care of us when we are sick, and we want to get as high as we can on the swing without touching the “lava” on the ground that is reality.

Don’t let anyone tell you that 5’7” is too tall to go down a slide, or that you’re too old to run for a swing. Life is too short, and life is too hard not to embrace all of its games.

"Oscar Wilde said that if you know what you want to be, then you inevitably become it - that is your punishment, but if you never know, then you can be anything. There is a truth to that. We are not nouns, we are verbs. I am not a thing - an actor, a writer - I am a person who does things - I write, I act - and I never know what I am going to do next. I think you can be imprisoned if you think of yourself as a noun."
